Fresh Decor for Spring

Spring has most definitely sprung and I’m dreaming about breathing a bit of life into my home. I’m thinking pops of color, refreshing my pillows, and updating my art game. Lucky for me, my favorite home decor site, Lulu & Georgia, is having a major — seriously major — pop-up shop sale now through April 22. I’m talking up to 80% off the prettiest pieces you ever did see. From pastel rugs that somehow don’t feel childish, to of-the-moment furniture, and timely decor, Lulu & Georgia pretty much has everything.

As could be expected, I’ve already gone H-A-M and picked up a pink and cream chevron rug, three prints (London, NY, and Rome), and three pillows for my bedroom. I can’t wait for my goodies to arrive! Keep reading for a few of my favorite Lulu & Georgia picks plus what I’m crushing on this Spring.

Decor Refresh — Coffee Table Heaven

It’s official, I’m a grown up. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect coffee table to feature in my living room and it finally arrived this morning. You know you’re an adult when coffee tables give you a buzz. The living room definitely still needs more work, but it’s looking more refined now that I can swap my ottoman for a real life coffee table.

The room is a mix of casual-cool and Parisian-elegance, which may not sound like they go together, but the two styles actually totally complement each other. The casual style of my couch, leather Serena & Lily stools, and rustic Crate & Barrel coffee table (The Dixon Table to be exact) calm down the potential fussiness of my pair of Restoration Hardware Lyon chairs and faux Hermes table.

Next on my list is a pair of side tables. To ensure that the room doesn’t feel too lopsided, I’m looking for a chic and sophisticated pair that can handle my tank lamps (thank you mom and dad for not wanting these beauties!). Take a look at a few of the options below.

Kennedy End Table, Wayfair

North Slope Side Table, Dot & Bo

Nolan Two-Tiered Side Table, Interlude

Marissa Mirrored Side Table, OKL

Until next time.

Decor Refresh — Palm Beach Chic

Summer is in full swing and I’ve been dreaming of a little decor refresh to the tune of Palm Beach chic. There’s something about walking into a room filled with bright, bold patterns; breezy dwarfed palm trees; and crisp white accents that makes the day infinitely brighter.

This season I’ll be infusing my home with hints of kitchy-cool Palm Beach style — just enough to bring out the bright feeling without overwhelming the senses. Checkout my picks to get the look:

Say yes to anything and everything pineapple.

Palm trees are always a good idea.

When in doubt, throw a bamboo chair into this mix.

These pieces immediately transport me to the days of Slim Aarons, where nothing seemed to matter as long as the sun was shining and the martinis flowing.

Until next time.

The Wish List — Glam Up Your Apartment

The Wish List — Glam Up Your Apartment

Since graduating, my new obsession has become all things home decor. So it only seemed fitting that the first installment of my new monthly segment — the wish list — be centered around my constant quest for ways to decorate my apartment. Although I’m still toying with my overarching theme, I can’t help but love the idea of modern glamour. With that in mind, these ah-maz-ing items are at the tip top of my list this month:

Animal Print Rug
This furbish metallic zebra rug adds the necessary dose of glitter without going overboard. I’m also a sucker for anything animal print so I’m pretty much in heaven with this piece.

Vintage Poster
I’ve always loved vintage movie posters so it only seemed natural to incorporate my favorite movieSabrina into the mix. Plus, this print is from a place near and dear to my heart — Italy!

Chandelier With a Modern Twist
These lady-like light fixtures always manage to tie a room together andthis one from Etsy brings a little industrial-chic into the mix for a more laid-back, modern feel.

Tufted Neutral Couch
No glamourous room would be complete without a cream or pastel tufted couch. I love the idea of having one perched at the end of my bed.
